What is Alkylate Fuel?
From gas to liquid
Alkylate is a synthetically produced petrol component. The alkylation process takes place at oil refineries. Alkylate is formed from the excess gases produced in the distillation of crude oil and oil cracking.
The majority of alkylate produced in the world is used in regular pump fuel because it is free from aromatics and olefins. This helps to bring the fuel within the specifications which are allowed to be sold on the forecourts.
The story behind Aspen Alkylate Fuel
He realised there were fuel components that would work much better – both for people and machines. The introduction of alkylate resulted in dramatically improved working environment for the Swedish forestry workers.
These fuels are now marketed as Aspen 2 and Aspen 4, and over 400 million litres has been sold worldwide.

Aspen works in all countries with the same mission: To develop, market and distribute fuels with unique benefits, and which reduce the negative effects for people, machines and the environment. Focusing on all users of smaller engines, they want customers and partners to gain experience in their cooperation. Their method is characterised by care, simplicity, and continual development.
The story behind the packaging
It also meets all regulations. The quality of your Aspen Alkylate Petrol is guaranteed by the sealed cap and the indication of the batch number on the container. along with the batch number there the date of production is also included. When used with the Fillpartner, it is the safest and easiest way to refuel your machine.

Colour:
Aspen 2 FRT is in the red can and Aspen 4 is in the blue. Using these distinguishable colours prevents fuelling errors. A common cause of machinery breakdowns is due to refuelling a machine with the wrong fuel. In the worst case, this could result in costly repairs or even buying a new machine. Avoid mistakes and make use of the colour.
There are special red and blue Aspen stickers available from your dealer that you can stick on your machine to help make sure you always refuel with the correct petrol!
Label:
The Aspen 5-litre can is clearly labelled with all of the information you need, including the hazard symbols. The sleeve is tightly wrapped around the can and will therefore last as long as the fuel does. Aspen is non-toxic and therefore does not need any environmental hazard symbols.
Aspen Alkylate Petrol does not bear the symbol “dangerous for the environment” which you will see on regular petrol and other alkylate fuels in the UK. Products with this symbol are toxic to aquatic organisms and can, for example, cause mortality of fish.
Plastic:
You can recycle your empty container. Simply make sure that the can is empty, and remove the lid and can sleeve. The cans are made from the same type of plastic as regular milk cartons and can be recycled wherever general plastics are accepted.
The canisters are not refilled, because according to the UN rules gasoline may only be transported in new containers. Where possible, we would always recommend up-cycling your cans to get all possible use from them before recycling.
